Kingston and London...again

Behause it was my first real day off, I decided to go to Kingston again, exploring a bit and stuff. There was a really cool street artist who made sculptures out of sand, but I didn't make a photo (sorry).
Also, I got a little lunchbox so whenever I'm on the go I can just put stuff in there instead of buying food on my way.
Around 12 o'clock I got a train to London cause it was still really early and I thought why not.
I crossed the Blackfriars bridge (every TID reader will know) and left a little note there:

Then I just walked through London without any destination.
My route was basically like this:
Waterloo- Blackfriars Brigdge- ?idk?- Covent Garden- Kings Cross- ?idk?- Oxford Street- Hyde Park- Buckingham Palace- Victoria Station- Vauxhall
So really, I've just been walking through London for hours.
I also got a railcard 16-25 for £30 where you get 1/3 off if every time you go by rail. Which will really pay off for me as I have to take the train quite often.
Yeah..that's it I think.
Today the kids and I were just drawing with watercolour pencils, it's a bit of a lazy day.
Oh and btw, I got a set of 24 Sharpies yesterday as they were in sale which is really cool (I kinda have a sharpie obsession)

(Some I got twice, I already owned a few ones before)

Kingston and London

I can't really think of a good sentence to start this blogpost, so I might as well just start like this.
On Wednesday the summer au pair F (I'll just call her F on this blog), who left today, and I went to Kingston. It's so beautiful there, you just have to go there if you ever get the chance! Also, it's great for stationary shopping!
You should totally go and have some lunch at "Greggs" if you're there. It's freshly made every day and not expensive at all- like a cheaper version of Pret-A-Manger.
Also there's a bookstore called Waterstones (I think) where if you buy a book you get the second one for half the price, which is a bargain! ("Words cannot do justice to the pleasures of a good bookshop. Ironically."- Waterstones)
There are a lot if shops in Kingston but that's not why I like it so much. It's just so cute and peaceful.
After that we went to London. We went to a book market next to the London Eye where you can get books for like £2-£4 (I think you already figured that I really like books), made a photo with the Blackfriars Bridge in the background (every Clockwork/The Infernal Devices reader WILL KNOW!) and we went to Covent Garden! (That's actually my favourite place ever! You gotta go to Bens Cookie's, they have a store in Covent Garden and they make the most delicious cookies that your mouth will ever have the pleasure to taste!)
So as you may it may not have figured, we were pretty exhausted after such a long day!

Oh and btw, I didn't plan to buy anything that day except for an Oyster card and some food, but I still ended up with a few things:
A little turquoise trash bin for my room , 2 books from that bookstore I told you about ("We were liars" and "Fangirls", I really wanna know what all the hype is about with these books), and these:

So yeah, I think that's all I wanted to say.
I'm gonna have a day off tomorrow so I'll be going to Kingston again, just exploring the area a bit.

I Arrived Safely

I arrived last evening at my host family's place!
I have to admit, saying goodbye to my family and friends was really really hard! I had to try hard to keep it together at the plane.
But it's not like I didn't want to go anymore, it's just really sad to leave such a big part of you behind!
When I arrived at the airport I was a bit nervous, but mostly curious what the future would hold!
And I have to say:  In the end, all my nervousness was for no reason. I only met my host mom so far, but she is so nice and considerate!
I just woke up, so I'm ready to start my first real day now! :)

A new adventure

Sooo, I decided to start a blog about my au pair year in England, mainly for my family and friends, but -of course- also for anyone who stumbles upon it, probably deciding whether to become an au pair or not.
I hope I will keep up with this blog and not become too lazy to do so. (Like when you're back at school after summer break and you're super motivated but after a week you're like naaaahh)
Anyways, I'm going to pack a last few things now, my adventure starts in a few hours.
